Caleb is great! He is very responsive and wants to make sure his customers are happy. This is the first time I've ever hired anyone to fertilize my yard. I am very particular and want my yard to look good. Caleb did not disappoint! Even with the drought we had this year, my yard stayed in good shape. I had new sod placed by another business. We didn't receive instructions about how much to water or when and the sod was in bad condition when we discovered Caleb. He was professional, non-disparaging of the other business, and was able to save the sod through clear instructions for us and through the treatments he offered. We are so relieved that we didn't lose the whole yard! We will continue to use this business indefinitely for everything grass-related!

We started using Left Side this year. We have used a number of different companies in the Cedar Valley to do our lawn care, and we have tried to do it ourselves. We started using Left Side just over 2 years ago because our lawn was thin, had dead spots and tons of weeds. Caleb had loads of knowledge and information to share, but I didn't know what half of it meant so I just told him to do his thing. In just the first year we noticed how few weeds we had and our grass was growing in twice as thick. Last year our lawn was put to the test because of no rain and it held up better than anyone we knew! We receive compliments from every visitor we have and I honestly couldn't be happier with how perfect it looks. We contacted LSLC this Spring to see how much it would cost to control our creeping charlie issue. In Summer's past, the creeping charlie has taken over about 75% of our backyard and we just wanted lush green grass to walk in. Caleb responded right away to my email and was out that same week to look over our yard and talk about pricing and programs to treat it. I appreciate his communication letting us know when he will be out next and payment is easy. Our yard has never looked better since Caleb has treated it and given us tips on what we can do as homeowners to help our grass grow! The creeping charlie is practically gone!! Having farmed all of my life, I believe where lawn care problems and solutions both evolve begin right beneath us in our soils. My mentality has always been one that thinks about generational sustainability to come, and our WHY. I have spent over 15 years perfecting my craft; I am an artisan, and each lawn is a blank canvas.
A strong premise on applying organic fertilizers, beneficial bacteria, amino acids, and soil amendments help create an innovative plan for a sustainable environment for turf to grow. A soil driven approach utilizes organics compounds necessary to increase the organic matter that synthetic fertilizers have taken away of from years of use. Organic chicken litter, beneficial bacterias, amino acids, humic acid, fulvic acid, micro nutrients, and other natural ingredients found within our soils such as calcium to chelate nutrients for uptake and utilization for grass to grow, thicken, smother weeds, and create a natural immunity for turf to fight against brown patch, summer patch, and dollar spot lawn fungus found too often in Iowa lawns.
